Teenager arrested after two arson attacks in Russia's Krasnogorsk VIDEO

A 17-year-old teenager carried out two arson attacks in a single evening in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, allegedly acting on instructions from unidentified individuals through a messaging app, Russia’s Investigative Committee said.

According to the agency, cited by Russian media, the teenager first set fire to a fuel pump at a gas station. He then targeted a police service vehicle parked near a local police precinct.

Both fires were quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported. The suspect was subsequently detained.

Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 167 of the Russian Criminal Code, which concerns the deliberate destruction or damage of property under aggravated circumstances.

The Investigative Committee warned that anonymous handlers operating through messaging apps are recruiting minors to carry out criminal acts.
