Tehran stands firm on defence, dialogue, president declares
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to both diplomacy and national defence, declaring that Iran remains engaged in negotiations while maintaining its readiness to respond to security threats.
As Caliber.Az reports, citing a post by Pezeshkian on X, the Iranian president stressed that safeguarding national security and public stability remains the government’s foremost priority.

“Our priority is the national security and peace of the people. We will firmly defend the rights of the nation and will not retreat in the face of any threat,” Pezeshkian wrote.
The president emphasized that diplomacy and defence are complementary pillars of Iran’s national strategy.
“Diplomacy and defence are two wings of national power; we have left neither the battlefield nor the negotiating table,” he stated.
Pezeshkian’s remarks come amid heightened regional tensions following recent hostilities between Iran and Israel.
Earlier, Iran announced that it had halted its strikes against Israel after US President Donald Trump called on both sides to cease hostilities. However, Tehran also warned that further attacks could be launched if tensions escalate in Lebanon, underscoring its readiness to respond to developments in the region.
