Three killed after timber truck crashes into residential building in Russia
Three people were killed when a truck carrying timber crashed into a residential building in eastern Russia’s Trans-Baikal region on February 26, local authorities said.
According to the regional branch of Russia’s Health Ministry, preliminary information indicates that four people were injured in the crash. Three of them died at the scene, while a fourth victim was taken by ambulance to the Transbaikal Regional Clinical Hospital for treatment, Caliber.Az reports per TASS.
The regional department of the Emergency Situations Ministry stated that the crash occurred at around 8:45 p.m. local time in the village of Peschanka, located within the city limits of Chita.
Emergency responders from Fire and Rescue Unit No. 6 arrived promptly at the scene. Rescue teams worked to recover the bodies of the victims and secure the site.
