Top Turkish general meets Syrian officials to bolster defence cooperation PHOTO/VIDEO
Turkish Chief of General Staff, General Metin Gürak, conducted an official visit to Syria, where he held a series of bilateral discussions with top Syrian military officials to reinforce defence cooperation between the two nations.
According to a statement released by Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defence via its official X account, General Gürak met with Syrian Defence Minister Major General Murhaf Abu Kasra and Chief of the Syrian General Staff Major General Ali Nureddin al-Hasan, Caliber.Az reports.

The discussions focused on a range of issues of mutual concern, with both sides emphasising their intent to safeguard the national interests of Türkiye and Syria. The meetings also underscored a shared commitment to deepening military collaboration within the framework of improving bilateral ties.
In addition to the military leadership, Burhan Köroğlu, Türkiye’s chargé d'affaires at its embassy in Damascus, participated in the meetings, further signalling the diplomatic dimension of this engagement.
