Top Turkish officials meet Syrian leadership to discuss security, constitutional issues Photo
A high-level Turkish delegation arrived in the Syrian capital, Damascus, on March 14 evening for talks with senior officials.
Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry announced on X that, the delegation included Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defence Minister Yaşar Güler, and Ibrahim Kalın, head of the National Intelligence Organisation (MIT), Caliber.Az reports.

The talks in Damascus involved a meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, attended by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani, Defence Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra, and intelligence chief Anas Khattab. Discussions focused on the agreement reached between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Damascus administration, which Ankara is closely monitoring, as well as Syria’s constitutional process and efforts to restructure the country.
The agenda also covered tensions between elements of the former regime and security forces, as well as Israeli attacks in the region.
