Torrential rains trigger flooding across northern Iran VIDEO

Heavy torrential rains have swept across northern Iran, causing flooding in streets and public areas and disrupting traffic in parts of Mazandaran province, Tasnim reported on Tuesday, September 8.

The heaviest rainfall was recorded in central and eastern parts of the province, where several areas were affected by flooding and transport disruptions. Current reports also indicate rising water levels in rivers and waterways amid the heavy precipitation.

The increase in surface runoff and rising water levels have raised the risk of further flooding and damage in vulnerable areas, according to the report.
