Tragic blast at Russian university kills two, several missing
On December 11, 2025, a serious incident occurred at the Perm National Research Polytechnic University in Russia, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
According to REN TV on Telegram, a hydrodynamic test stand exploded in one of the university’s laboratories.
Four people were injured in the blast, and two of them later died.
The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined. Emergency services are on site, responding to the incident.
Further reporting from Shot indicates that one of the two deceased victims is a child. In addition to the fatalities, three people sustained injuries, while four others are reported missing following the explosion.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the blast and are coordinating rescue and safety operations at the university.
