Tragic drag racing accident claims life of seven-year-old girl at US Orlando Speed World
A seven-year-old girl has tragically passed away following a drag racing accident in the US.
Elienisse Zoe Diaz Rodriguez fought for her life for two days before doctors declared her brain dead, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
According to Orange County Fire Rescue officials, they responded to a 911 call reporting an incident involving a car and a person at Orlando Speed World on February 2. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that Rodriguez lost control of her Junior Dragster Racecar during a race on Sunday.
She collided with a safety guide employee before crashing into a concrete wall. The safety guide, a 34-year-old man from Orlando, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Centre with injuries that were not life-threatening. Rodriguez was rushed to Arnold Palmer Hospital, where she later passed away. The young girl had been racing in pursuit of her dream of becoming a junior dragster.
Faculty and staff have confirmed that Rodriguez was a first-grade student at Eastland Christian School, located off Lake Underhill Road in Orlando. Orlando Speed World, situated in Orange County, has long been a prominent venue for the Orlando World Street Nationals, drag racing events, and other motorsport activities.
