Trump wants Iran to face tariffs in addition to sanctions “I’d like to see tariffs on Iran”

A bill to tighten sanctions against Russia, co-authored by the late Senator Lindsey Graham, should include not only sanctions but also tariffs against Iran, US President Donald Trump said during a press conference at the White House.

“I'd like them to add Iran as tariffs, not just the sanctions. <...> I'd like to see tariffs on Iran. That would make it much stronger,” Trump said.

He also noted that he sees no need for the House of Representatives to end its August recess to consider the bill on an expedited basis.
