Turkic leaders gather in Budapest to forge stronger ties and global partnerships VIDEO
An informal summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) is set to take place on May 20-21, 2025, in Budapest, the vibrant capital of Hungary.
This announcement came directly from the OTS press service via their official social media page on X, per Caliber.Az.
Under the evocative theme “Meeting Point of East and West,” the summit highlights Hungary’s unique geopolitical position as a bridge between two great civilisations. It also underscores the Turkic states’ strong desire to deepen dialogue and cooperation across diverse cultural and civilizational landscapes.
Held in a relaxed, informal atmosphere, this gathering will provide the leaders of OTS member countries with a valuable platform to discuss vital cooperation issues, share insights on pressing regional and global challenges, and set clear priorities for the organisation’s future growth and development.
The Organisation of Turkic States is a dynamic international alliance uniting Turkic-speaking nations to advance collaboration in political, economic, cultural, and security arenas. Its core members — Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan — work together to strengthen ties, promote regional peace, and tackle common challenges. Hungary participates as an observer, reflecting its growing engagement with the Turkic world.
Beyond its member states, the OTS is actively expanding its partnerships with other countries and international organisations, aiming to build bridges and foster cooperation on a broader, global scale. This upcoming summit in Budapest promises to be a pivotal moment in reinforcing these ambitions and shaping the future of Turkic cooperation.
