Turkish companies modernise navy submarines PHOTO
The modernisation project for four Preveze-class submarines in service with the Turkish navy has successfully completed the acceptance activities for some critical systems.
STM Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendisliki ve Ticaret A.Ş., which plays an important role in the development of the Turkish defence industry and national technologies, is upgrading the submarines, Defence Turk wrote on its Twitter page, according to Caliber.Az.

As part of the PREVEZE-YÖM project, which includes the modernisation of 4 Preveze-class submarines, STM will validate the acceptance experience of the TCG Preveze (S-353) inertial navigation system, CTD sensors, chilled water system, and static inverters, which are due to be delivered in 2022 during the design stages of the submarine. After its successful completion, acceptance work on these systems was completed on March 2, 2023.

The Preveze class submarine modernisation project includes TCG Preveze (S-353), TCG Sakarya (S-354), TCG 18 Mart (S-355), and TCG Anafartalar (S-356).
STM carries out platform integration activities for all products supplied by STM-ASELSAN-HAVELSAN and ASFAT Ortaklığı.
