Turkish textile company Akıncılar has signed a cooperation agreement with the Azerbaijani Defence Industry’s research institute.
Under the agreement signed between the parties, a joint production enterprise and a laboratory will be established in Azerbaijan, Anadolu reports, citing the company’s press service.
Today, Akıncılar produces bulletproof vests, ballistic helmets, uniforms, etc. in Izmir.
Defence products, which will be produced at the joint venture in Azerbaijan, are planned to be delivered to third countries.
"Within three years, production in the fraternal republic will switch to entirely domestic materials. Bulletproof defence products will be produced in Azerbaijan for the first time.
