Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Russia, Rahman Mustafayev, who was recently summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, arrived at the ministry's building at Smolenskaya Square in Moscow.
The diplomat entered without any comments for journalists, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
On June 30, Ambassador Mustafayev was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry in response to what Moscow described as “unfriendly actions of Baku,” specifically citing the recent detention of Russian journalists.
The summons follows a police operation conducted at the Baku office of Sputnik-Azerbaijan, the local branch of the Russian state news agency Russia Today, during which several individuals were taken into custody. Besides, two employees affiliated with the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), who were working at the agency, were also detained during the operation by the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry.
