Turkish defence ministry: Body of last soldier killed in military plane crash found
The body of the last missing soldier from the Turkish C-130 military transport aircraft that crashed near the Georgian-Azerbaijani border has been found.
According to a statement from the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, search teams recovered the remains of the 20th victim among the wreckage of the aircraft that went down on the border between Azerbaijan and Georgia, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
The crash occurred on November 11, 2025, when a Turkish Air Force C-130 transport plane flying from Azerbaijan to Türkiye went down in mountainous terrain near the town of Signagi, Georgia. All 20 military personnel on board—including technical staff—lost their lives.
Before departing, the aircraft had remained at Ganja Airport in Azerbaijan for nearly two hours. Pre-flight checks revealed no technical issues, and Turkish media said no external damage was observed on the fuselage. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
On November 12, the plane’s black box was recovered from the site and transported to Türkiye for analysis
