Turkish forces seize "indestructible fortress" of PKK in Iraq
Turkish National Defence Minister Hulusi Akar has said that the Turkish military had taken control of a large cave in the Zap region in northern Iraq, which the PKK terrorists called an "indestructible fortress."
According to him, in a cave known as Chemcho, the Turkish military seized a lot of weapons and ammunition, reports Anadolu.
Akar once again confirmed the determination of the Turkish army to completely eradicate the threat of terrorism in the region.
“The military immediately takes action in case of any activation of terrorists. The Turkish Armed Forces continue to fight terrorists in difficult geographical and climatic conditions,” Akar said.
He recalled that in response to a terrorist attack on a Turkish military base in northern Syria, 12 PKK militants were neutralized.
The Turkish military continues to destroy terrorist hideouts and shelters, even those considered to be the strongest, Akar said.
He added that Ankara respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all neighbouring countries, including Syria and Iraq.
At the same time, Akar stressed the importance of ensuring the security of the borders and citizens of Türkiye.
