Turkish forces seize large PKK weapons cache in northern Iraq VIDEO
Turkish Special Forces have uncovered and destroyed a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition belonging to the PKK terrorist organisation during ongoing operations in northern Iraq’s Pençe-Kilit (Claw-Lock) operation zone.
The Turkish Ministry of National Defence announced the discovery in a statement published on its official account on the social media platform X, Caliber.Az reports.
The cache was found during search and sweep activities targeting terrorist hideouts in the region. According to the Ministry, the seized items include a range of light and heavy weaponry, explosives, and communications equipment, indicating a significant logistical hub for PKK militants.

The seized items included: 1 AT-4 anti-tank rocket launcher, 2 single-use launchers, 1 RPG-7 with 28 rounds, 1 Doçka heavy machine gun, 4 M-16 rifles, 9 AK-47s with 126 magazines, 1 Zagros sniper rifle, 2 PKMS 7.62 mm machine guns, 15 sniper magazines, 7 binoculars, 2,950 rounds of 7.62 mm and 2,500 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, 6 grenade fuses, 101 hand grenades, 23 smoke grenades, 22 grenade launcher rounds, 10 tear gas canisters, 1,500 blasting caps, 26 Yaesu radios, 3 anti-tank and 4 anti-personnel mines, 200m of detonating cord, 1kg of C4, 3 pressure devices, and 200 electric detonators
The operation is part of Türkiye’s broader cross-border campaign to eliminate PKK elements threatening national security from bases in northern Iraq. The Pençe-Kilit operation, launched in 2022, has resulted in numerous successful raids on terrorist infrastructure, including weapons depots and tunnel networks.
