Azerbaijan observes Martyrs’ Remembrance Day annually on September 27 to honour those who fell during the Patriotic War, which began in response to military provocations by Armenia and aimed to protect civilians.
The day was officially established by a presidential decree on December 2, 2020, as a mark of deep respect for the servicemen who heroically defended the country’s territorial integrity.
