Turkish intelligence neutralizes PKK/YPG "financier" in Syria PHOTO
The Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) has neutralized a senior figure of the PKK/YPG terrorist organization, Shiraz Omer, in a precision operation in northern Syria.
Shiraz Omer, who operated under the codename "Sözdar Afrin", was responsible for financial activities within the organization, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Omer joined the terrorist group in 2012. After spending some time at the Qandil headquarters in northern Iraq, she was transferred to Syria, where she became involved in the so-called Rojava Secretariat.
She held a senior role in the Ain al-Arab, Hasakah, and Al-Malikiyah regions. Previously a representative of PKK/YPJ, the organization’s women’s wing, Omer recently served as a so-called manager within its financial structure.
Note that, PKK has carried out numerous attacks targeting civilians, military personnel, and infrastructure, resulting in over 40,000 deaths, including women, children, and the elderly.
Originally seeking an independent Kurdish state or autonomous Kurdish regions within Türkiye, the organization has shifted to asymmetric tactics such as bombings, assassinations, and ambushes.
