Turkish leader sends warm Ramadan wishes to Azerbaijan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
The remarks were made during the inauguration ceremony of the Igdır-Nakhchivan gas pipeline, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
"I congratulate the Azerbaijani people, our Azerbaijani brothers, on the beginning of the month of Ramadan. May Allah accept their fasts," Erdogan stated, sharing his heartfelt wishes for the occasion.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and is considered one of the holiest months for Muslims worldwide. It is a time of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. Muslims believe that during Ramadan, the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad.
Fasting during Ramadan is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, and adherents refrain from food, drink, smoking from dawn until sunset. The fast is seen as a means of purifying the body and soul, fostering empathy for the less fortunate, and strengthening one's connection with God.
