The Turkish company ASELSAN has developed the GÖKDENİZ short-range air defence system.
ASELSAN announced on its Twitter page that acceptance tests of the air defense system within the MILGEM-5 project have been completed, Caliber.Az reports.
GÖKDENİZ Sistemi, yurt dışı bağımlılığı ortadan kaldırmakla kalmadı; muadil yabancı sistemlerden daha üstün performans ortaya koydu.

The new system aims to protect maritime vessels not only from missiles but also helicopters, aircraft, UAVs, and surface targets.
The GÖKDENİZ system surpasses foreign counterparts in its characteristics and has already been integrated into Türkiye's MİLGEM-5 frigate.
GÖKDENİZ is a product of domestic expertise, which contributes to minimizing Türkiye's reliance on imported munitions, ASELSAN chief executive Halyuk Görgün said.
He said the system, which also uses ASELSAN's 35mm Air Burst Ammunition (ATOM), could be supplied to the navies of friendly countries and allies of Türkiye.
