Turkish president set for key speech at D-8 summit in Egypt
Head of the Communications Directorate at the Turkish Presidential Administration Fahrettin Altun has said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will participate in the D-8 summit in Cairo on December 19.
“Our president will visit Egypt on December 19 to attend the 11th D-8 summit. He will deliver a speech at the summit, which will focus on ‘Investing in Youth and Supporting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises: Shaping the Economy of Tomorrow.’ He will also participate in a special session dedicated to the situations in Palestine and Lebanon,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Altun’s message on X.

Erdogan will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts during the summit. These discussions will focus on current global and regional issues, particularly Syria and Palestine.
The D-8 Organisation was founded in 1997 in Istanbul on the initiative of Turkish Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan (1996–1997). The organisation comprises Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Türkiye.
