Turkish president to visit Qatar amidst regional tensions
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to undertake an official visit to Qatar from September 14 to 15.
During his visit, Erdogan will participate in the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as well as the League of Arab States, underscoring Türkiye’s continued engagement with key regional allies, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
The visit comes at a critical juncture in Middle Eastern geopolitics, following recent developments involving Israel’s attack on Hamas operatives based in Qatar. Earlier this week, Erdogan held a phone conversation with Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, signaling close diplomatic coordination between Ankara and Doha in response to the escalating tensions.
