Turkish-Syrian diplomatic meeting takes place in Washington

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a meeting in Washington with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, Caliber.Az reports, citing TRT Haber.

Details of the meeting have not been disclosed.

Earlier, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa also held a constructive meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington. The private session at the White House lasted 1.5 hours.

Following the summit, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced on November 10 a partial 180-day suspension of sanctions on Syria under the Caesar Act.

“The Secretary of State has suspended the application of Caesar Act sanctions for 180 days to demonstrate our commitment to easing sanctions on Syria,” the Treasury stated.
