Turkish, UK defence industries to continue expanding ties

The cooperation between the Turkish and British defence industries is of vital importance to both countries. Türkiye and the UK have begun to strengthen cooperation in this area.

The Turkish Ambassador to London, Osman Koray Ertaş, has given this statement to Anadolu agency during an interview on August 2.

The diplomat noted that Turkish defense enterprises have begun to show great interest in cooperation with the United Kingdom. In this context, he pointed out, a Turkish defence company had recently bought shares in a British defence company.

"Once again, as part of IDEF-23 [the 16th International Defense Industry Exhibition], our major defense industry company signed a partnership agreement with an important company in the UK. All this is encouraging for the future. We will continue to support such a strategic approach in our relations in the defense-industrial sphere", Ambassador Ertaş assured.
