Türkiye aims to equip Air Force with domestic critical technologies, defence chief says
Turkish National Defence Minister Hulusi Akar has said that Türkiye aims to equip Air Force with critical technologies of its own production.
Akar made the statement on the occasion of the 112th anniversary of the Air Force Command on June 1, Anadolu reports.
The minister drew attention to the fact that many platforms developed by domestic defence companies have already been added to the Turkish Air Force's inventory.
On June 1, Türkiye celebrates with enthusiasm and excitement the anniversary of the establishment of the Air Force Command, the pride of the Turkish people in the skies, the defence chief stressed.
"Today, our Air Force has taken its place among the world's leading air forces thanks to its vast experience, highly qualified personnel and advanced technology," the minister said in a message.
The Turkish Air Force successfully carries out all its missions, from protecting the skies to effectively combating terrorism, from natural disaster evacuation operations to supporting international peace and stability, the minister said.
Akar paid special tribute to the Air Force personnel who, he said, were instrumental in achieving this success.
"To make our Air Force even stronger, we have incorporated many aviation platforms developed by the domestic defence industry into our arsenal. Negotiations are also continuing with friendly and allied countries to meet the immediate needs of the Turkish Air Force," he said.
However, the ultimate goal is to equip the Turkish Air Force, one of the world's first military aviation organizations, with domestic systems, especially in critical technologies, Akar stressed.
"Working diligently day and night, shoulder to shoulder, with government agencies, foundations, the private sector and universities to realize this goal and provide our personnel with the most advanced and state-of-the-art technology," the minister added.
