Türkiye denies port access to cargo ship carrying Ukrainian grain
18 May 2026 17:09
A bulk carrier accused of transporting grain from Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine has reportedly been denied entry to the Turkish port of Iskenderun, The Times of İsrael reports.
The vessel, identified as the Panormitis, was said to be carrying grain originating from territories of Ukraine currently under Russian occupation.
The ship had earlier attempted to dock near Haifa but was also refused entry by Israeli authorities.
The Panamanian-flagged vessel is now reportedly heading south, with possible destinations including ports in Syria or Egypt where it could potentially unload its cargo.
