Türkiye detains 14 Interpol-wanted suspects in Istanbul operation
Turkish authorities have detained 14 individuals wanted by Interpol in an operation carried out in Istanbul, according to law enforcement sources.
The suspects were sought on charges including murder, theft, fraud, and involvement in illegal organisations, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media.
The operation was conducted by Istanbul police units responsible for combating illegal migration and border control, in coordination with intelligence services and the National Intelligence Organisation (MİT).
Following technical and physical surveillance, authorities identified the suspects’ locations. All 14 individuals, who were subject to Interpol red notices and diffusion alerts, were detained during simultaneous raids.
According to police, the arrests were carried out with the aim of extraditing the suspects to the respective countries. They remain in custody as procedural steps continue.
