Türkiye’s ASELSAN climbs to new heights, heralding tech-forward defence future

ASELSAN, a cornerstone of Türkiye’s defence technology sector, has not only solidified its position as a leading innovator but has also achieved a landmark financial milestone, with its market capitalization surpassing 1 trillion Turkish lira—equivalent to approximately $24 billion—marking an unprecedented achievement on the Istanbul Stock Exchange (BIST).

Beginning the year at a share price of 72.50 lira ($1.74), ASELSAN’s stock has witnessed a meteoric rise, reaching 220.80 lira ($5.30), thereby propelling the company to become the first entity within the BIST indices to breach the trillion-lira market capitalization threshold. This surge has coincided with the BIST 100 index hitting a historic peak of 11,605.30 points, underscoring a bullish period for Türkiye’s capital markets.

Central to ASELSAN’s robust expansion is the implementation of its strategic program, aselsaneXt, launched in 2024 under the leadership of CEO Ahmet Akyol. The program articulates a clear vision focusing on three primary goals: producing best-in-class products, pioneering revolutionary technologies, and driving export-oriented growth. This visionary roadmap has positioned ASELSAN on a trajectory toward becoming one of the world’s top 30 defence firms by 2030.
