Türkiye’s intelligence forces neutralise ISIS cell in Syria

Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organisation (MİT) and police have conducted a successful joint operation against an ISIS cell in Syria, authorities reported.

According to the Turkish Ministry of Interior, a family of 14 individuals who had adopted ISIS ideologies had rented a car from Turkish citizen Binali Aslan and subsequently killed him before crossing into Syria.

The suspects were located in the Idlib-Atma region through coordinated intelligence efforts between MİT and the Syrian internal security service.

During the operation, eight suspects were neutralised, two were wounded, and four were taken alive after a confrontation in which they opened fire in response to repeated calls to surrender, the Ministry said.
