Türkiye’s Roketsan signs joint defence production deal with Indonesia

14 April 2025 13:05

Turkish missile manufacturer Roketsan has signed an agreement with Indonesia to establish a joint defense production enterprise, marking a major strategic step in Türkiye’s expanding defense industry partnerships.

A senior Roketsan official confirmed that the agreement signifies a deepening of bilateral cooperation in defense beyond simple product exports, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.

Speaking at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) 2025, Roketsan CEO Murat İkinci highlighted Türkiye’s commitment to offering allied and partner nations the opportunity to co-develop defense technologies.

“In the upcoming period, we aim to rapidly expand our international ties and cooperation to significantly boost the export potential of Türkiye’s defense industry,” İkinci stated.

He announced that Roketsan had recently signed a joint production agreement with Indonesia and publicly disclosed plans to launch a collaborative manufacturing project. “The President of Indonesia was also here, and we had the opportunity to meet directly. Rapidly strengthening these relations is critical to increasing our defense industry's export capacity,” he added.

The agreement, signed with an Indonesian defense firm, covers the co-production of anti-ship missiles, cruise missiles, and various smart munitions systems.

İkinci noted that the partnership aims to facilitate technology transfer, reinforce Indonesia’s local defense industry infrastructure, and implement training programs for Indonesian engineers and technicians.

Roketsan is a major Turkish defense contractor specializing in rocket, missile, and weapon systems development and manufacturing. It plays a central role in Türkiye’s growing defense industry and is one of the key drivers of the country's ambition to become self-sufficient in military technologies and a global defense exporter.
