Türkiye tightens requirements for obtaining residence permit
Türkiye has introduced new rules for the acquisition of residence permits through the purchase of real estate.
Now the minimum cost of the object has increased from $50-75 thousand to $ 200 thousand throughout the country, writes Gazeta.ru.
The media analyzed data from 4 major Turkish real estate sites and found that the number of apartments for sale costing more than $200 thousand decreased by 5.2 times compared to the previous rules.
"Such apartments became only 16.5% of the total offer on the market," - said a source in the Migration Department of Turkey.
According to the department, the country is already home to more than 1.1 million foreigners with residence permits, of whom 122,000 are Russians. The new criteria came into force on October 16 and concerns those who want to obtain a residence permit through the purchase of real estate.
