Two agents of Israel’s Mossad arrested in northern Iran
Two operatives of Israel’s foreign intelligence service, Mossad, have been detained in Iran’s northern Alborz province, according to Iranian security services.
The suspects are said to be members of a "Mossad terrorist cell" involved in the production of bombs, explosives, booby traps, and electronic equipment, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian news outlet IRNA.
"They were arrested in a teahouse in the city of Savojbolagh," the statement read.
IRNA also published a photo purportedly showing one of the detainees. He is seen wearing a blue prison uniform, with a tattoo visible on his chest and his face covered by a mask.
Iran regularly accuses Mossad of infiltrating the country to disrupt its military and nuclear infrastructure. In turn, Israel views Iran’s nuclear ambitions and regional influence as existential threats.
