Two civilians injured in attack on Russia’s Belgorod region, authorities say PHOTO

Two female civilians were injured in a reported Ukrainian attack on the Russian city of Belgorod, local authorities said on January 2.

Belgorod regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said one woman sustained a traumatic brain injury and barotrauma, while the second suffered a shrapnel wound to her forearm. Both were hospitalised and are receiving medical treatment, Caliber.Az reports. 

The shelling also caused damage to residential and commercial property, according to officials. Windows were broken in a private house and approximately 40 apartments across three multi-storey residential buildings. A commercial building sustained damage to its roof and façade, and seven vehicles were hit by shrapnel.
