Two people died following a drone attack in the Moscow region, local authorities have said.
The head of the region, Andrei Vorobyov, said that four unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were intercepted and shot down by air defence forces in the areas of Voskresensk and Kolomna, Caliber.Az reports.
Vorobyov wrote on his Telegram channel that the incident led to a fire at a private residence in Voskresensk, resulting in the deaths of a 76-year-old woman and her 6-year-old grandson. He expressed his deepest condolences to the victims’ families and assured that the regional government would provide all necessary support.
The drone strikes also caused damage to several houses, affecting windows and facades, and disrupted street lighting in the area. Vorobyov confirmed that no other casualties had been reported beyond the two fatalities.
