UK warns IRGC supporters face up to 14 years in prison
The United Kingdom has warned that individuals who support or assist Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) could face lengthy prison sentences after the organization was formally designated as a listed threat under the country's National Security Act.
The UK Home Office announced the measure in a post on its official X account, saying the designation strengthens the government's ability to counter activities linked to the IRGC.
"The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been designated under the National Security (State Threats) Act.
Anyone who supports or assists the IRGC, or receives payment from it, could face 14 years in prison.
Those who commit acts of sabotage could face life imprisonment," the Home Office said.
