Ukraine launches mass drone attack on Russia, 74 intercepted
The Russian Ministry of Defence has reported a large-scale overnight drone attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), claiming that air defence units intercepted 74 unmanned aerial vehicles across five regions of the country.
In a statement posted on its official Telegram channel, the ministry said the Ukrainian drone assault began late on July 28 and continued into the early hours of July 29.
The Bryansk Region saw the heaviest barrage, with 43 drones reportedly shot down. Another 22 were intercepted over the Rostov Region, six over Kaluga, two over Smolensk, and one over the Leningrad Region.
The ministry did not disclose whether there were any casualties or material damage resulting from the attack, nor did it provide information on potential targets.
