Ukraine reports injuries, damage following overnight Russian attacks PHOTO
Two people were injured in overnight Russian strikes on Kyiv, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) announced.
“Tonight, Russian missile strikes caused fires in the Desnianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts of the capital. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, an administrative building and warehouse facilities caught fire. Two people were injured, one of whom was hospitalised.
At another location, a garage complex caught fire. The blaze was extinguished. Administrative buildings and trams were also damaged as a result of the attack. In the Desnianskyi district, warehouse facilities caught fire. At all other locations, the fires have now been contained,” the SES said in a statement.
The Ukrainian emergency service also reported attacks on two enterprises in the Chernihiv region.
According to officials, falling drone debris in the Koriukivka district caused a utility building to catch fire at one site, while a vehicle and a tractor were set ablaze at another. Emergency crews extinguished both fires, and no casualties were reported.
The Zaporizhzhia region was also affected by the attacks. Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov said on Telegram that 10 people were injured and more than 15,000 customers were left without electricity.
“As a result of the Russian attack, 15,342 consumers in Zaporizhzhia were left without power, including 14,574 residential customers and 768 legal entities,” Fedorov noted.
