Ukraine’s “Iskander-like” missile emerges as potential threat to Moscow

28 April 2026 16:43

The FP-9 ballistic missile developed by Ukrainian company Fire Point, considered a system comparable to Russia’s Iskander-M complex, may pose a threat to rear facilities in Russia, according to the Telegram channel “Voennaya Khronika.”

The channel described the system as a “direct threat” to strategic infrastructure in the European part of the Russian Federation, including Moscow and the surrounding region.

According to the report, the missile is estimated to have a range of 700–855 kilometres, with speeds reaching up to 2,100 meters per second during the active phase of flight. It is believed to be capable of carrying a warhead weighing up to 800 kilograms.

The FP-9 demonstrator is reportedly visually similar to the Iskander system as well as Ukraine’s Grom-2 missile project. The channel suggests the new development may be a direct evolution of those systems.
