Ukraine’s security service foils planned Russian strike on naval drones PHOTO
Ukraine’s Security Service (SSU), with support from the Armed Forces and Naval Command, intercepted a planned Russian airstrike targeting Ukrainian units operating naval drones.
During the operation, a serviceman from the Navy’s Special Unmanned Systems Brigade was detained for passing sensitive information to Russia, Caliber.Az reports, citing SSU.
Investigators found that he was preparing geolocation data on drone operator bases, storage sites for unmanned boats, and their movement routes.

Key targets included naval drones codenamed “Sea Baby” and “Magura.” The SSU identified and documented the informant’s activities in advance, detaining him while he was preparing coordinates for a missile strike, and simultaneously took measures to secure Ukrainian positions.
Investigators determined that the suspect came to Russian intelligence's attention through acquaintances, one of whom served as a channel for the transfer of classified information. A smartphone containing sensitive data was seized during searches.
The suspect remains in custody while the investigation continues, with authorities considering additional charges.
