Ukraine strikes Russian rocket fuel producer in Rostov region

Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck the federal state-owned rocket fuel producer Kamensky Combine in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Russia, overnight on August 24, Ukraine’s General Staff has said.

It noted that a fire broke out at the defence-industrial facility, while the extent of the damage is being assessed, Caliber.Az reports.

The Kamensky Combine specialises in producing solid rocket fuel for ammunition used by the Uragan, Smerch and Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems, as well as other missile systems and air-launched weapons.

Ukrainian forces have recently mainly targeted fuel production infrastructure in Russia.

Two days ago, they struck fuel and lubricant storage tanks at the Yeysk oil terminal in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, causing a fire.

According to the Ukrainian military, the terminal is part of the infrastructure of the port of Yeysk and is used to receive, store and ship petroleum products, including supplies for the Russian military.
