Ukraine war could end at any moment — Kremlin
Russia’s military operation in Ukraine could come to an end “at any moment” if the Ukrainian leadership makes what Moscow describes as the necessary decisions, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said during a briefing.
According to Peskov, the conflict “can stop at any moment as soon as the Kyiv regime — and [Volodymyr] Zelenskyy — takes responsibility and makes the necessary decision,” Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“What decisions need to be made is well known in Kyiv,” he added.
Peskov also stated that a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outside Moscow remains possible. However, he stressed that such a meeting would only take place when it becomes possible to “put an end” to the military operation.
“There is sense in meeting at any other location only if the settlement process is fully finalised,” Peskov said.
“And in order to finalise it, in order to put a full stop to it, a great deal of preparatory work still needs to be done,” he added.
