Ukraine widely using German vector UAVs, Russian marine alleges
Ukraine’s armed forces are actively deploying German-made Vector unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), a Russian marine serviceman by the call sign Drost has stated.
Serving in a marine infantry unit within Russia’s Centre group of forces, he said Ukrainian troops use the drones regularly, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“We regularly destroy them; each one costs about €200,000,” he told the outlet.
Drost also described the procedure followed upon detecting a target.
According to him, units first receive information about a drone’s takeoff, after which the crew is alerted via radio, deploys to the area, and engages the target.
“Sometimes we shoot down three to four units in a single day. Overall, the enemy has a large number of such drones,” he added.
