Ukrainian drone attack hits Russia’s motor transport enterprise in Penza PHOTO/VIDEO
A drone attack struck a facility in Penza, Russia, on the night of January 6, causing explosions in the city.
According to ASTRA OSINT analysts, the strike targeted a site at 10A Druzhby Street in the Shuist microdistrict, home to the Cargo Motor Transport Enterprise No. 2 (ZAO GATP-2), Caliber.Az reports.
The company specialises in managing non-residential real estate, and its premises house various tenants. However, it is not yet clear which specific facility was hit by the attack.
Eyewitness footage confirmed the explosions occurred near Klara Zetkin Street, approximately 1,200 to 1,300 metres from the site of impact.
Initial reports from locals speculated that the Penza Bearing Plant may have been the target of the attack, but this facility is located around 2.5 kilometres from the explosion site.
The regional governor later confirmed that five additional drones had been neutralised by electronic warfare forces. Emergency services are currently on the scene where the UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) reportedly crashed. Earlier, three drones had already been downed within the city.
