Ukrainian drone attack targets Moscow oil refinery PHOTO/VIDEO
Ukrainian drones targeted the Moscow Oil Refinery in the Russian capital early on June 16, one of Russia's largest oil-processing plants, which plays a crucial role in supplying fuel to Moscow and the surrounding region.
The attack was directed at the Moscow Oil Refinery, located in the Kapotnya district in southeastern Moscow, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.
The refinery is estimated to account for approximately 35% of Moscow's fuel market, supplying around 40% of the region's gasoline and 50% of its diesel fuel. It also provides fuel for Moscow's airports, making it a strategically important component of the capital's energy infrastructure.
Russian authorities did not immediately confirm any damage to the refinery.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said Russian air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 25 drones over the city during the attack.
