Ukrainian drone hits Russian city of Yelets, killing one, injuring five
A Ukrainian drone strike on the Russian city of Yelets in the Lipetsk region has left one person dead and several others injured, regional authorities said.
Governor Igor Artamonov reported that a woman was killed in a residential building on Cherokmanova Street, Caliber.Az reports.
Five others were wounded, four of whom were hospitalised, he added.
“All necessary medical assistance is being provided,” Artamonov wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to him, debris from the unmanned aerial vehicle damaged windows in several residential buildings.
In the village of Dolgorukovo, a drone strike sparked a fire in a residential home.
Residents were evacuated, and the blaze has since been extinguished, the governor said, noting that no injuries were reported there.
Emergency and operational services are working at the scene.
“In the near future, municipal authorities will assess the damage and provide financial assistance,” Artamonov added.
