Ukrainian drone wave hits Russia, air defences destroy 177 UAVs

The Russian Ministry of Defence has reported that a total of 177 drones belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine were shot down.

In the period from 20:00 Moscow time on 3 May to 07:00 on 4 May, air defence systems on duty intercepted and destroyed 117 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles over various Russian regions, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

The drones were downed over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Voronezh, Volgograd, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Moscow, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Smolensk, and Ulyanovsk regions.

In Moscow, a drone struck a building on Mosfilmovskaya Street; no casualties were reported. In the Bryansk region, in the settlement of Senchury, a drone hit a moving freight vehicle, injuring the driver. 

In the Belgorod region, two people were injured in the explosion of a passenger car the previous evening. In the Kaluga and Rostov regions, there were no fatalities or damage on the ground. Authorities in other regions have not yet commented on the overnight attacks.
