Ukrainian partisans claim strike on Russian military communications tower PHOTO / VIDEO
A Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar partisan movement, ATESH, has claimed responsibility for a sabotage operation in Lipetsk, central Russia, in which a military communications tower was destroyed.
The group said the tower played a key role in transmitting data and coordinating Russian armed forces, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the movement’s own reports, the tower served several strategic sites, including the 924th Combat Use and Re-Training Centre for drone units, Lipetsk military airfield, and the 260th Main Rocket and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) arsenal.
“GRAU arsenals across Russia are increasingly catching fire. With communications disrupted near the 260th, any strike on it will now be far more destructive,” the group said.
Experts note that such towers support both operational and military communication channels, including backup lines.
Their destruction can cause information transmission failures, reduce the resilience of communications, and hinder coordination among deployed units.
