US B-2 Spirit launches rocket capable of reaching Siberia

The US B-2 Spirit strategic bomber has successfully launched an AGM-158B JASSM-ER missile that can reach Siberia for the first time.

According to The Drive, tests carried out as part of the aircraft's upgrade took place in December 2021, but this has only now come to light.

The aircraft will reportedly receive a new guidance system designed for use with the B61-12 nuclear bomb and an improved cryptographic protection system for communications systems.

Northrop Grumman calls the AGM-158B JASSM-ER the first long-range stealth missile for the B-2. It can cover a distance of up to 980 km.
