US earns over 50 billion euros from gas sales to EU
The United States has supplied the European Union with liquefied natural gas (LNG) worth almost 66.7 billion euros since February 2022, according to Eurostat data.
The agency noted that since February last year, the EU has bought approximately 61 billion cubic meters of gas worth 66.7 billion euros from companies in the United States over 20 months, writes Lenta.ru.
On average, this is 3.1 billion cubic meters for 3.3 billion euros per month, experts said. Before the start of the war to Russia in Ukraine, on average, the United States supplied 1.25 billion cubic meters of gas per month worth 725 million euros.
As experts have calculated, the “added value” of US gas companies in Europe during this period amounted to 36 billion cubic meters. The Europeans paid 52.2 billion euros for this. A cubic meter of gas cost them twice as much as before the war.
