US, Moroccan forces test advanced electronic warfare in joint drills
American and Moroccan forces are conducting joint exercises near Agadir to test new electronic warfare technologies, as part of the Arcane Thunder 24 maneuvers, running from August 5 to 16.
This initiative is aimed at restoring military capabilities dismantled after the Cold War, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media outlet.
The exercises include advanced equipment like high-altitude balloons and drones designed to detect and neutralize enemy radars and radio transmitters. According to Lt-Col Aaron Ritzema, the Multi-Domain Effects Battalion's role is to identify and fix potential targets for further action.
This binational exercise marks the second wargame for the 2nd MDTF, which was established three years ago. Unlike last year's exercise in Central Europe, involving minimal Polish participation, the Moroccan forces are fully integrated into the current operations.
